Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

1. Service Description

SoulProp provides cryptographic timestamping services. When you seal a file, we encrypt it, request an RFC 3161 timestamp from an independent timestamp authority, and store the encrypted file. You receive a key file that is the sole means of decrypting your sealed content.

2. Key Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your key file. We do not store, backup, or have any means of recovering your decryption key. If you lose your key file, your sealed content cannot be recovered. We strongly recommend backing up your key file to multiple secure locations.

3. Service Cost

SoulProp is free to use. There are no fees, credits, or subscriptions. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, but existing seals and functionality will remain free.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use SoulProp to seal content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful. While we cannot see the contents of your encrypted files, we reserve the right to terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used for unlawful purposes.

5. Data Storage

Sealed files are stored encrypted on secure infrastructure. We retain sealed files indefinitely unless you request deletion. Deletion requests require proof of key ownership.

6. Timestamps

RFC 3161 timestamps are provided by independent timestamp authorities. While we make every effort to ensure timestamp accuracy and availability, we do not guarantee the continued operation of third-party timestamp services.

7. Limitation of Liability

SoulProp provides timestamping services on an "as is" basis. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of SoulProp after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
